Folklore says that, like fudge, brownies are a product of an
accident. In the late 1800s, a thoughtless cook supposedly wanted
to make chocolate cake but forgot to put in the baking powder.
The product has persevered to remain one of the most popular desserts.
Fudge brownies are made of darker chocolate and they’re
denser than normal brownies.
For those that can’t get enough chocolate, there are plenty
of tips that enhance the taste of fudge brownies. Some chefs recommend
sprinkling different types of chocolate into the batter (dark
or white chocolate) before putting the pan in the oven. This will
give the brownies some welcome variation. Cutting a brownie length-wise
and putting ice cream in the center is also a tasty option.
Instead of ice cream or nuts, adding fruit to a fudge brownie
can be a healthier and tastier alternative. Raspberries are some
of the best chocolate enhancements; their sharpness perfectly
compliments the richness of chocolate. Chefs recommend pouring
half the batter in the pan, throwing 4 oz. of chopped-up raspberries,
and then pouring the rest before putting it all in the oven.
